Dear User:
Hello! To ensure your online business continues to comply with global cybersecurity standards, we are forwarding the latest industry standard adopted by the CA/Browser Forum and explaining the specific impact of this change on your existing and future SSL/TLS certificate usage.
I. Policy Background and Effective Date
In April 2025, the CA/Browser Forum voted to approve a proposal to shorten the maximum validity period of SSL/TLS certificates, aiming to improve the security of encrypted communications through more frequent certificate renewals. According to the proposal, the validity period of public SSL/TLS certificates will be shortened in phases:
Phase 1 (from 2026): The maximum validity period for all newly issued public SSL/TLS certificates will be shortened from the current 397 days to 200 days.
Phase 2 (from 2029): The validity period will be further shortened to 47 days.
To ensure a smooth transition to the new regulations, our company will strictly adhere to industry requirements. The specific effective date is as follows:
From 02:00 Beijing time on February 24, 2026, the maximum validity period for all newly issued or renewed public SSL/TLS certificates will be uniformly adjusted to 200 days.
II. Impact on You and Key Considerations
Existing certificates are unaffected. Certificates issued before February 24, 2026, can continue to be used until their original validity period expires and are not subject to the new regulations.
With the shortened validity period of new certificates, from February 24, 2026, all newly applied, renewed, or changed (such as adding a domain name) certificates reissued will have a maximum validity period of 200 days.
Regarding multi-year orders: If you have purchased a multi-year certificate order, we will issue it to you in installments. For example, for a two-year order, after the initial issuance of a 200-day valid certificate, a second new certificate with the same 200-day validity period will be automatically issued before its expiration. We recommend that you plan your certificate renewal cycle in advance to avoid business interruptions due to forgetting to update.
